The Fair runs from Wednesday, July 14 thru Sunday, July 18, 2010.
The Fair Grounds are located at 2020 White Bear Avenue in Maplewood,
Minnesota.

Deadline
for registering - Saturday, July 17, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. - no
exceptions. The competition will take place at the Ramsey
County Fair, 2020 White Bear Ave. in Maplewood on Sunday,
July 18th, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. All contestants should be at
the Fair by 4:30 p.m.
Must
be a resident of Ramsey County or if a group, one person must be a resident Competition
is open to all amateur entertainers. Professionals, including union musicians,
or whose talent is a principal source of income, are not permitted to enter Four-minute
time limit for the act COMPACT
DISCS MUST BE CLEARLY MARKED ON WHAT TRACK TO CUE FOR PLAY PRIOR TO YOUR PERFORMANCE.
For vocalist CDS, they MAY NOT HAVE ANY VOCALS OF ANY KIND. Vocal acts
WILL BE DISQUALIFIED if there are vocals on the accompaniment CD. Contestants
are required to use sound system provided by the Ramsey County Fair First
place winners in each division go on to represent Ramsey County at the Minnesota
State Fair Amateur Talent Competition

We had so
much fun last year at our day camp we are offering it agian
this year.
Youth will
get a behind the scences look at what goes on at a fair from
entering exhibits to performing on stage. They will also participate
in lots of hands on activities, in th epetting zoo, with the
marionettes, 4H, and more...
Registration
Fee: $35/day/child; lunch is provided
$10 off (early bird - register by June 30)

Youth Pet Day
Saturday, July 17, 2010

If you are
a youth between the ages of 5 and 15, plan to participate in
the Youth Pet Show at the Ramsey County Free Fair.
The Youth
Pet Show will take place on Saturday, July 17 starting at 2:00
p.m.
Register
at 1:30 p.m. in the Pet Show tent.
All pets
are eligible - dog, cat, hamster, bird, rabbit, etc. All animals
need to be leashed/caged while on the grounds.
Jim Lewis,
University Of Minnesota(retired) will be the judge.

Cake Decorating Contest

Do you
have a great idea for a decorated cake? Here's an opportunity
for cake decorators to put their creative talents to the test!!
Date:
Saturday, July 17, 1:00 p.m.
Location: Open Class Exhibits Building
Theme: The Boy Scouts 100th Anniversary
Categories There will be 2 age categories
1.
Youth (12 - 17 yr.)
2. Adult (18 yr. and older)
Judging:
Cakes will be judged on creativity, originality, and presentation/overall
impact. This contest is strictly based on cake design and cakes
will not be eaten on the premises. Judging will be conducted
by a panel of judges selected by the Ramsey County Fair. Judges'
decisions are final. Cakes will remain on display and will
be released to the exhibitor at 9 p.m on Sunday July 18
Rules:
a.
Contestants must not be employed in or accept money for working
in the baking or catering industry.
b. The cake must be made and decorated by the person
entering the contest.
c. Contestants will need to bring their own decorating
tools, extension cord, equipment and other supplies. Be sure
to bring a bucket for water, cleaning cloths and aprons.
d. All entries must be on a disposable plate or platter
depending on size of cake.
e. Cake must be at least 75% edible, non-edible props
may be used for decoration and structure.
f. An index card must be submitted along with the entry
providing the entrant's name, address, and phone number(s).
g. There is no entry fee.
Prizes:
1st place winners in each category will receive $10.00 and 2nd
place winners will receive $5.
Entries
are due July 7. We will accept the first 5 entrants in each
category.
